Assistant Vice- President - Software Project Manager & Lead Architect (Web) - Mumbai

The company is into E- Business of gifting solutions. It is ranked amongst the top 50,000 commercial sites and is one of the few successful & profitable ecommerce sites in the world. It is a Bombay based company and they are looking for young and enthusiastic candidates for the following openings with them.
The AVP Software Project Manager & Lead Architect will form a part of the management team and work along with the CEO and VP (Business Head).

Requirement –

• The AVP will possess hands-on technical leadership capabilities in the oversight of the design, development and transition of custom-built web applications. He/ She must have extensive knowledge of web architecture and Internet protocols, plus strong communication, diplomacy and management skills.
• B tech /M tech + MBA (preferable)
• Total experience of around 8 years and at least 3+ years of experience as Development Manager or relevant role
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, C#, with solid design and programming experience in PHP and good understanding of LAMP
• Must have working knowledge of My SQL
• Proven demonstrable experience in SDLC methodologies required
• Ability to learn appropriate technologies and being able to derive personal motivation with assigned responsibilities is highly desirable
• The ideal candidate will show an excellent understanding of how to design applications for better performance, have proficiency in multiple program languages, and demonstrate strong problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills.
• Highly refined software engineering process facilitation skills with areas of business/functional specialization are also desirable together with strong mentoring, team building, and counseling skills on software engineering and career issues. Should have handled multiple projects with team size of 10+
• Should have worked with test automation in the areas of functional, regression and performance testing
• Should be process oriented, should have good knowledge about SEI-CMM, Six Sigma and PSP/TSP, preferably from a CMM Level 5 company
• Should have worked with onshore/offshore team model, handled virtual teams
• Should be familiar with Enterprise web based applications, must have handled testing of integrating diverse systems, must have involved with testing projects in LAMP related technologies
• General knowledge of common tools and other web technologies such as ASP.Net, VB.Net, HTML, DHTML, JS, XML, SQL etc.
• Ability and desire to thrive in a high-pressure, client-services entrepreneurial environment with little supervision.
• Strong technical computer science or engineering background is required
• Good written and oral communication skills required
• Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, decision making and leadership skills
• Experience in enterprise management, distributed systems and a general knowledge of web security concepts and technologies is strongly preferred.
• Candidates should be familiar with the process of building and testing enterprise-scale software products for the web
• Ability to learn appropriate technologies and being able to derive personal motivation with assigned responsibilities is highly desirable.

Candidate Profile

• Managing the development and implementation of complex projects through the entire SDLC
• Define architecture, performance and maintainability of applications
• Day-to-day client interaction on ongoing projects for customer queries, status updates
• Ensure department approvals and sign-offs on all major deliverables
• Track projects with monthly status reports
• Define, create, and maintain project plans
• Resource allocation for projects
• Develop and refine process flows to ensure repeatable, timely and high-quality work.
• Ensure development & maintenance of documentation
• Ensure adherence of processes by the development team
• Monitor the execution of the assignment/project by daily review of the progress made by different team members on their respective tasks
• Working within a team framework to ensure the transformation of graphics, layouts, interfaces, etc. into a cohesive site meeting all objectives
• The AVP has accountability for project level P&L and risk management
• He has responsibility for the day-to-day management of cross-functional (creative and technical) web development staff
• Leading and managing a 7 – 10 member in house team
• Lead and manage several outsource teams
• Lead, motivate and focus the team
• Manage day-to-day client communication
• Participate in employee development – new hire integration, staffing, training, performance appraisals/reviews, coaching & counseling, mentoring and coaching
