Data Base Administrator - Mumbai

The company is into E- Business of gifting solutions. It is ranked amongst the top 50,000 commercial sites and is one of the few successful & profitable ecommerce sites in the world. It is a Bombay based company and they are looking for young and enthusiastic candidates for the following openings with them.

Requirement –

BE/B Tech/MCA/C-DAC
At least three (3) years of experience as DBA, preferably My SQL
Apache & PHP experience required.
Should have Adaptability
Strong deductive reasoning and communication skills. Be able to interact effectively with team on a day-to-day basis.
Ability to work independently as well as work effectively with co-workers.
Capability to recompile My Sql with user specific LOAD requirements.
Capability to reconfigure OS + web server, in order to develop an environment to support the Database to perform its best (faster).
Experience in SQL tuning, writing complex queries, triggers and transaction logs
Database administrators must enjoy problem solving
They should be meticulous, organized, and be able to keep up with the latest developments in technology.
Good written and oral communication skills are important
Should have in-depth knowledge of at least one database management system such as My Sql, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
They also need a general understanding of computer operating systems like Windows & Linux.
Hands on with the latest database modeling tools.

Candidate Profile

Designing and constructing databases to store information for the ecommerce business
Ensuring the accuracy and security of data
Carrying out regular maintenance work on the database and trouble shooting when problems arise
Monitoring the performance of the database
Monitoring the growth of the database
Increasing database capacity if called for
Documents operational configurations, processes and procedures
Performs installations, backups and recovery of database.
Identifies measurements and methods for gauging database performance.
Ensures proper capacity and availability of database systems.
Optimize current database configuration and schema for performance and security.
Creates and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures in relation to database usage and management
Function as both operation and development DBA
Establishes service levels for database operations.
Monitor, service and tune databases in a 24x7 environment
Investigate and resolve database alerts and events, escalating issues as appropriate.
Optimize and validate SQL, and assist and guide in database design
Optimize and validate SQL Queries, and database design
Establish data mapping procedures
Specify and develop customized reports by working closely with users
Executing SQL scripts against databases to fix data.
Support development, staging and production environments.
Effectively communicate and coordinate efforts in a high-pressure environment.
