“Head – Strategic Project”
(Large Scale Transformation)

Bombay
This
corporation has embarked upon a world wide Large Scale
Transformation Project with the assistance of a Global
Strategy Consulting Firm.
The
Asia - India Project & Program Management Role is
expected to commence in the next 4 weeks. The company
is looking for a “High Potential Strategy –
Process Management Specialist” who will lead the
project for the corporation through the next 3 years and
would follow through this period and beyond with Project
Implementation, realizing value and Change efforts.
The
incumbent is treated as a “Strategic Human Resource”
for global postings on completion of the assignment.
The
Project envisages substantive change at the Strategic,
Structural, Operational & People Levels and the need
to identify a critical management resource to be hired
now and who would work closely with the global management
consultants, change management specialists, the global
head quarters driving the change and the India top management
sponsors responsible for delivering value post transformation
is a critical priority.
The
Strategic intervention includes the Globalization, Business
Case for Change, the Supply Chain Integration, SBU Structural
Architecture, Marketing & Business Development Strategies,
Communication and Human Resource Planning, Finance Business
Intelligence, Information Technology and Manufacturing
Strategies.
Critical
Purpose of the Role Incumbent
- Drive
value through the Strategic Transformation Execution
-
Identify & Build the members of the Project Management
Team – Both Line & Staff and enable them to
commence participation in the transformation work
-
Developing a project plan, charter, establish roles
& responsibilities, synergize with other company
priorities
-
Determining & Identifying the dependencies between
the work components required for efficient and successful
program completion and timelines and resource requirements
for each component
-
Identify clear deliverables/outcome expected of the
project
-
Understand the linkages between one Project Sponsor
Work and another concurrent Project including monitoring
comparative progress between one project to another
-
Establish quality indicators on project performance,
communicate such quality – standard indicators
to project leaders
-
Identifying Milestones, Target Dates, Monitor Costs
while implementation
-
Plan for change management needs as pre identified
-
Developing the necessary program control and tracking
tools and templates
-
Developing a comprehensive coordination mechanism and
schedule (e.g. steering committee meeting, project team
meetings, etc.) to ensure timely identification, escalation
and resolution of issues
-
Working closely Reviewing Project Performance based
on the key performance indicators defined for project
progress
Candidate
Profile
Candidates
with an inclination to learn & contribute in a world
class environment with relevant Project/Program Management
Experience of about 8 years plus (just a ball park) in
manufacturing, marketing, services or consulting companies
and who have the knowledge, skills & competencies
to drive hard a large scale strategy implementation project
would be appropriate & very desirable.
Candidates
from high end B Schools (IIMs, XLRI, ISB, Bajaj) from
India or Overseas (Ivey League) with a strong conceptual
and execution flair should apply. Age, experience, expectation
in compensation is not a critical factor. This position
needs the best, as per our client.
Candidates
who have worked as client counterpart in Consulting Interventions
as representatives of the company would also be suitable.
Those with lesser years of experience may also apply for
postings in Bombay as members of the Project Management
Team & for functional positions in HR, Marketing,
Finance & Supply Chain.
